About the work

Molly Unquera is an Oakland based painter who draws on her childhood in the foothills of the sierra mountains and the nature found there. Her work has been heavily influenced by her health and eyesight since she went blind in her left eye in 2011. Her recent works deal primarily with mortality and chronic pain, the beauty found in processing those, and the vulnerability in sharing them with you.

She has been working with watercolors for 22 years.
